CVPM, CVT, Hospital Administrator

Karen has worked in the veterinary field for over 27 years, all of which have been at Norton Animal Hospital. Having received an Associates Degree in Arts from the Community College of Rhode Island, a certificate in Veterinary Dental Technology, and an award in small animal nutrition, Karen is Hospital Administrator and Head Veterinary Technician. She received her CVT license in Veterinary Technology. Karen has completed an intensive management program, the Veterinary Management Institute (VMI). VMI is offered through Purdue University’s Executive Education Department in the Krannert School of Management and the American Animal Hospital Association. Upon completing this intense program, Karen received a certificate in veterinary practice administration in addition to 72 hours of graduate-level management education. After much hard work and dedication to the veterinary profession, Karen as received her CVPM – certification in veterinary practice management. This title is given to members of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association that have completed the application process and have successfully passed the comprehensive exam.

When she is not working at the hospital, Karen and her husband, Dave, travel the world riding roller coasters. They have been on over 650 different roller coasters in North America and Europe!

She also enjoys photography, cooking, collecting music and movies. Her beloved pets are 3 cats (Jodie, Ella and Annie), a Brussels Griffon named Jasper, and a Conure (Elphie).

Head Veterinary Technician

A full-time member of the health care team, Donna has been a veterinary technician since 1999, and with Norton Animal Hospital since 2000. Because of her love and compassion for animals and strict attention to detail, she is also Head Veterinary Technician.

Donna enjoys the companionship of many four-legged friends. Her dogs include Noah, a Golden Retriever and Scoobie, a Chihuahua mix. Her cats are Zoie, Toby and Gatsby. When she’s not working, Donna likes going to the beach, reading and baking.

Sara

Sara

CVT, Veterinary Technician

In 2006, Sara joined the staff of Norton Animal Hospital as a part-time veterinary technician, receptionist and front office supervisor, but her relationship with the hospital goes back long before then. Between April of 1998 and June 2003, she worked at N.A.H. while attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where she got her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She has also worked for the North Attleboro Zoo as an animal caretaker and at animal hospitals and clinics in Springfield, MA, Valdosta, GA, Moss Point, MS, and Mt. Laurel, NJ. In 2012 Sara passed the national test for Veterinary Technicians to become certified.

Married to Jeff, the couple has two sons, Thomas and Matthew. Also sharing their home is their dog, Charlie, a mixed breed, and two cats, Zoey and Henry.

Rachel

CVT, Veterinary Technician

Rachel is from Norton and attended the local schools in town. After graduating from high school, Rachel went on to Roger Williams University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology in 1999. She has been a technician at Norton Animal Hospital since 1998. During her time here she worked as a full-time technician before deciding to further her schooling in elementary education. She attended Bridgewater State and received her post-baccalaureate degree. While teaching in local schools, Rachel continued working here part-time. In 2005, her husband’s job relocated to New Hampshire where she was a surgical technician for Veterinary Surgery of New England, as well as working in private practices. In 2009, Rachel and her husband, Ryan, moved back to MA and we gladly had her come back to work with us. Rachel is a wonderful asset to our team, for her knowledge and her upbeat personality. She is also a Certified Veterinary Technician, CVT.
When Rachel is not working at Norton Animal Hospital, she and her husband are raising two sons, Mason and Justin. Part of Rachel’s family also includes 2 black and white kitties – Addie and Aidan. She also enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family.

Lindsey Lamay

Veterinary Technician

Lindsey has been working full-time with the veterinary technician team since early 2012 but has worked in the veterinary field since before graduating college. She attended the University of New Hampshire, Thompson School of Applied Sciences, graduating with a degree in Applied Animal Science with a specialty in Small Animal Care in 2009. Lindsey is also a Certified Veterinary Technician, and she is a dedicated team member known for her contagious good humor!

Lindsey is from Norton and is now lives in Blackstone with her dog Ellie, and a bearded dragon named Sookie. When she’s not working at the animal hospital, Lindsey can be found at Petco as well. She enjoys gardening, snowboarding, dirt biking, and crafting in her spare time.

Veterinary Technician

Originally a receptionist at Norton Animal Hospital since 2002, Karen is now a full-time veterinary technician. She is a graduate of Taunton High School and Bridgewater State College. Karen’s compassion for animals makes her a wonderful asset to our team!

Married to Michael, the couple has two children, Gabrielle and Chloe. Karen enjoys spending her leisure time gardening and reading. Her beloved pets include, 3 cats – Butternut, Mavie, and Badger; and a Border Collie named Blake.

Judy

Judy

Veterinary Technician/Receptionist

Judy has been with Norton Animal Hospital for over a year now, but she comes with 8 years of experience in the animal field. Originally from New York, Judy moved to Massachusetts to attend college at Northeastern University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. Previously, Judy was the Barn/Herd Manager at the Bridge Center – a therapeutic riding center. She is certified in Large Animal Rescue by the MSPCA and also a MA licensed riding instructor. Judy has also received certification in Reiki 1 and is CPR/First Aid certified. She is a welcome addition to Norton Animal Hospital!

Judy shares her home with a cat – Jack; a dog – Hobbes; and 3 horses – Chief, Chloe and Jugsy. She enjoys agility and trick training, as well as horseback riding. Her hobbies include listening to live music, camping, traveling and photography.

Receptionist

Marissa is the newest member of our team, starting in July 2015. She is from North Attleboro, where she attended the local schools. She then went on to college at the University of New Hampshire, earning her Bachelor’s in Zoology in 2014. She interned at Roger Williams Park Zoo in the summer of 2012.

When she’s not working, Marissa is also a pet sitter/dog walker. She has a German Shepherd Mix named Scooter, and 2 Guinea Pigs – Bug and Dora. She also enjoys martial arts and in particular, Krav Maga.
