Karen has worked in the veterinary field for over 30 years, all of which have been at Norton Animal Hospital. Having received an Associate’s Degree in Arts from the Community College of Rhode Island, a certificate in Veterinary Dental Technology, and an award in small animal nutrition, Karen is Hospital Administrator and a CVT – Certified Veterinary Technician. Karen has also completed an intensive management program at the Veterinary Management Institute (VMI).
VMI is offered through Purdue University’s Executive Education Department in the Krannert School of Management and the American Animal Hospital Association. Upon completing this intense program, Karen received a certificate in veterinary practice administration in addition to 72 hours of graduate-level management education.
After much hard work and dedication to the veterinary profession, Karen received her CVPM – certification in veterinary practice management. This title is given to members of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association that have completed the application process and have successfully passed the comprehensive exam.
When she is not working at the hospital, Karen and her husband, Dave, travel the world riding roller coasters. They have been on over 700 different roller coasters in North America, Europe and Asia!
She also enjoys photography, cooking, collecting music, and movies. Her beloved pets include two cats, Ella and Annie, a Brussels Griffon named, Jasper, and a Conure named, Elphie.
